The Australian Sheep Breeders’ Association is proud to launch the very first Bendigo Festival of Lamb to celebrate the 133rd Australian Sheep & Wool Show (July 16- 18). Five of Bendigo’s top chefs have been matched with some of the country’s best lamb producers. They include The Whirrakee Restaurant’s Brent Slade & Leverton Park, Shelbourne, VIC; Mt Edgecombe Hotel’s Peter McLeod and Wurrook, of Rokewood, VIC; The Dispensary Enoteca’s Rory Cowcher and Bonah Organic, Yenda NSW; The Gallery Café’s Renzo Panozzo and Erindale Farm, Bendigo VIC; The Shamrock Hotel’s Eddie Basich and Womboota Pastoral, of Womboota NSW. Each chef will create a signature lamb dish available during the Festival – July 12 to 18. Highlights of the Bendigo Festival of Lamb include: *The Great Chop Off - NMIT and Bendigo TAFE hospitality and butchery students will compete to carve and cook the perfect lamb chop in under an hour. *Sausage Making at the Mount Edgecombe Hotel - Free Mini Master class on how to make Gourmet Wurrook Mutton Sausage's. *A Mount Edgecombe Hotel Slow Sunday Lunch 18th - "Lamb Around the World" using Wurrook’s finest cuts. *Lamb Cooking & Classes at the Sheep Show - Stephanie Alexander‐trained chef Paul LeNoury shares secrets from the country’s best restaurant kitchens and Bob Dewar - better known as Bob the Butcher - a connoisseur of well‐carved lamb will demonstrate carving techniques.
