| Food Trails of Australia |
The idea of a Food Trail is relatively new to rural Australia and one of the most promising developments in food tourism. Without local knowledge a visitor can pass through a region and easily miss visiting the local producers. So much of what happens in regional Australia is taking place on the byways - the bush tracks and gravel roads that seem to go on endlessly but eventually end up in an absolute gem of a place.More and more regional producers, large and small are coming together to establish Food Trails which map out their local area, inviting visitors to experience first hand the pleasure of meeting the people behind the nation's food and sampling the difference bewteen the freshest of the fresh and produce which is weary through transport and storage. These are the real fresh food people of Australia.
